In todays attention economy the browser tries to sell you links and news (because there are ads next to the news). When we open a new window nothing should interrupt our thoughts.

Windows Microsoft Edge

Open Settings > New tab page > click Customize. A new page opens. Click on the Cogs top right, disable everything.

Alternative use an extension Blank Tab

macOS Safari

Open Safari > Preferences > General. Configure, New windows and New tabs with "Empty Page"

macOS Firefox

Open Firefox > Preferences > Home. Configure Homepage and new windows, New tabs to use Blank Page
